Istanbul-Edirne, 265 kms in a day by bicycle

I went to Edirne from Istanbul by bicycle, on June 13, 2009, to join EDOSK's (Edirne Nature Sports Club) "3 countries in a day, by bicycle" activity.

The route (pink line): Istanbul (Kagithane), Kemerburgaz, Gokturk, Tayakadin, Durusu Park, Saray, Vize, Kirklareli, Edirne


I woke up at 03:50 AM and hit the road at 05:00 AM.

Edirne province border. The road between Kirklareli-Edirne was soooo boring.

Pedal time was 11h 12min. Average speed was about 23.66 kph (14.70 mph). The stormy wind was againist me during all the journey. And the road was tarmacked, it was making hard to ride at high speed.
